Announcements

May  1st, 2009 - Full Swing- The Bloomington Chapter of the Grill Scouts of America  is happy to announce tomorrow's BBQ: Barbacoa Day... Yes, yes we understand that barbacoa is traditionally made from goat, and that we're bastardizing it by using beef. We'd like to point out that Chipotle did it first.

March  11th, 2009 - Celebration- Today is Steven Raichlen's birthday! The Grill Scouts look at Steven as a father figure. He, through many books, and his TV show "BBQ University", he has spread the word to the masses so we all can improve our grill game. Happy birthday, Steve!

We'd also like to congradulate him on the recent translations and publications of The Barbeque Bible into German, and Russian. Keep up the great work!

Feb  2nd, 2009 - Super Bowl- Here's to hoping you took advantage of our unseasonably warm Super Bowl weekend weather to fire up your man oven. Pistol Pete and the Capt Marc enjoyed delicious chicken drumsticks and steak skewers, marinated and grilled to perfection.

January 10th, 2009- Do not ever let this happen to you:

This tragedy happened during the Deep Freeze of Jan '09.

With nearly a month of sub zero temperatures, Capt Marc was forced indoors where he survived a painful bout of MWS (Meat Withdrawal Symptoms) by eating one quarter of his body weight in Von Hanson's Maple Sausage Sticks.

Apr 9th, 2008 - Holiday- "If we took a holiday, took some time to celebrate, just one day out of life, It would be... It would be so nice." Thank you, Madonna, for those words of wisdom. The Grill Scouts would like to remind you that there's a lot of holidays, and as such, many reasons to grill in the upcoming months.

Feb 8th, 2008 - True Love- Valentne's Day is just around the corner. Do not forget, there's only one way to express true love: Meat. Lots and lots of meat. If you're not ready for a serious commitment, perhaps a gift card to Von Hanson's will work...

Jan 14th, 2008 - Reminder- This is weekly reminder: Don't forget to Wang Chung tonight. Specifically, everybody have fun tonight. Everybody Wang Chung tonight. Thank you, and please be safe.

Jan 8th, 2008 - The Day has finally arrived. We are officially launching the new website, featuring an easier design process, so we can let the good times roll. Yeah! We've got a few recipes up and running, and are going to be adding some old favorites, as well as some new crap, as soon as we get to grilling them up. In case you haven't figured it out, creating this site is really an excuse for us to hang out and Q', so hopefully there will be more and more recipes forthcoming. Forthwith. Post haste.

Oct 28th, 2007 - In order to keep the good times rolling, we are moving our website from grillscouts.net to grillscoutsofamerica.com. Our new website will be simpler for us to develop and maintain, thereby giving us more free time to create interesting content, and to eat meat and be merry, of course! We will be rolling out new content shortly, so stay tuned!
